How is Coaching Different from Therapy?
While both coaching and therapy support personal growth and self-discovery, they have different approaches and goals. Therapy is typically focused on addressing mental health concerns, healing emotional wounds, and resolving past traumas. It is led by licensed mental health professionals trained to diagnose and treat psychological disorders, and therapy services are often billable to insurance.
Coaching is a collaborative process focused on self-awareness, growth, and creating meaningful change in your present and future. In our coaching work, we may explore core wounds, limiting beliefs, and childhood messaging to help you understand the patterns that shape your life. By using the Enneagram as a framework, coaching helps you gain insight into your core motivations and habitual patterns, allowing you to make intentional, empowered choices. Coaching is designed to provide clarity, foster resilience, and help you build the tools you need to move forward in alignment with your values and goals.
Is Coaching Right for You?
If you’re looking for support in navigating current challenges, setting goals, and making intentional changes to align with your values, coaching may be the right fit. However, if you are experiencing significant emotional distress, trauma, or need clinical support, a licensed therapist may be more appropriate. Coaching and therapy can also complement each other, providing a well-rounded approach to both healing and growth.
